A Trip to the Past

Grandson of Grover Cleveland Visits President's Childhood Home

WEB George Cleveland, 58, a resident of New Hampshire, recently made his first-ever visit to the childhood home of his grandfather, Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th president of the United States.

George Cleveland is often mistakenly identified as the great-grandson of Grover Cleveland, who was born in 1837. However, he is actually the grandson of the president. "Rumor has it he was very fond of pastry," remarked George Cleveland, referring to his grandfather's supposed love of sweets.

Grover Cleveland is the only president to ever serve two non-consecutive terms. He was born in Caldwell, New Jersey, in 1837, and died in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1908. His grandson, George Cleveland, visited the president's childhood home on Academy Street on September 15, 2023.
