In the story, the Red Wedding takes place at the Twins, the castle of Lord Walder Frey, during the wedding of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey. However, the joyous occasion is a ruse set up by Tywin Lannister and Frey as revenge for Robb Stark's breaking of his marriage vow to marry one of Frey's daughters.
