Game 1 of the first round series between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers lived up to the hype, with both teams trading blows throughout the contest. In the end, it was the Knicks who emerged victorious, thanks in large part to their dominance on the boards.
Knicks Control the Glass
The Knicks absolutely dominated the Sixers on the glass in Game 1, outrebounding them 50-36. This advantage allowed the Knicks to generate second-chance opportunities and control the tempo of the game. Tobias Harris had a strong night for the Sixers, scoring a team-high 25 points. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the Knicks' rebounding advantage.
The Knicks were led by Julius Randle, who finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds. RJ Barrett and Jalen Brunson also chipped in with 21 and 19 points, respectively.
The series now shifts to New York for Game 2, which will be played on Thursday.
